ABOUT THE FUNCTION

As an Azure Data Architect within Climber in Hengelo, you will be the driving force behind modern data platforms in the Azure cloud. You work on innovative projects for leading organizations such as Asics, Ikea, Spotify, Action and Scotch & Soda. You will be responsible for designing and realizing data architectures that align with the client’s strategic goals.

In this role, you will design data solutions with components such as Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks, Data Lake and Purview. You will map data flows, translate business requirements into technical designs and advise on security, governance and performance. You work closely with Data Engineers, BI Consultants and client-side stakeholders.

What’s unique about this position is that you get to build your own Azure team within Climber. You take the initiative in attracting, guiding and coaching medior data engineers and architects, with the aim of forming a stable department that is ready for further growth. You will have every opportunity to translate your vision of modern data architecture into a solid foundation and to grow into a lead or even management role in due course.

Strategic, technically strong and communicative. You oversee the big picture, but don’t lose sight of the technical details. You have a strong vision of data architecture and a hands-on mentality. You know how to bring others along with your ideas and enjoy building a team. You think commercially, work systematically and have a network, preferably in Overijssel or Gelderland.

WHAT TO EXPECT?

Besides excellent primary and secondary conditions, you will work from your new home base on the 9th floor of the greenest office in the Netherlands, the ODIN building along the A1 in Hengelo. From here you will work with a small but close team that has serious growth ambitions! Working at Climber you will get to work on challenging assignments for clients from various industries.

We regularly organize team sessions and trainings with other Climber offices, try to be in the office on Mondays and Fridays to facilitate spontaneous brainstorms and share our knowledge. Every August you will meet all your international Climber colleagues when we fly to an original destination. Besides working hard on fun assignments, we also like to have fun in the workplace. During lunch we are always in for a game of Trackmania, table tennis or pool. We almost always end the working week with a nice Friday afternoon drink.
