Pets Place Farmers Union is a great place to work, a family business where colleagues with a passion for animals and gardens come together. We are looking for a talented employee to join our growing IT department as a Data Specialist.

In this impactful role, you will play a crucial role in transforming Kingfisher Retail into a data-driven organization. To make this transition, a brand new data team will be set up to work on this with external experts. Together with this team, you will shape and direct our data platform and thus the company’s core strategy for the coming years. You will work closely with colleagues across the organization, IT and other departments to ensure that our data architecture aligns with our strategic goals.

A look at your daily adventures:

Data Model Maestro: You will design and develop a data model that efficiently represents the organization’s data, ensuring that every valuable detail is captured.

Data Warehousing Wizard: You will contribute to the continuous development of our data warehouse and data marts, creating a robust system for data storage and analysis.

Data Quality Champion: You will implement and maintain data quality measures to ensure the accuracy and consistency of our data, creating confidence in our data-driven decisions.

Data Architecture Defender: You will monitor the data architecture and proactively identify improvement opportunities to optimize data flow and accessibility.

Cloud Tech Savvy: You will use your expertise in cloud technologies, specifically Google Cloud Platform, to design, develop and maintain the data platform that collects, transforms and loads data from various sources into our data warehouses and data marts.

Data Pipeline Pro: You optimize data storage and retrieval for efficient data access and analysis, ensuring smooth data flow for real-time insights.

Collaboration Catalyst: You will work with data scientists and analysts to develop and implement data-driven solutions that enable informed decision-making across the organization.

This is you

• Minimum 3 years of experience, including at least 2 years in a similar role (data modeling, cloud technologies, data pipelines)
• Experience in the retail industry is a plus
• Ability to translate business data needs into optimal technical solutions
• Excellent communication, presentation and listening skills
• Solid foundation in cloud technologies, especially Google Cloud Platform
